Our family camp

This year for our family vacation we went to Jordanelle reservoir and stayed in a cabin. It was a nice cabin but it had no couch or kitchen table which was annoying but it worked just fine because we ate outside. I was trying to do a mini girls camp where you have activities and lessons mixed together. I think it went pretty well. We played Article of Faith Jepeordy, candy game, listen to Dad tell Axton story (the kids love that whenever Alex does that), hiking and making crafts.

There was a park next to our cabin that they loved. Girls loved the tire swing. Braxton and Alex would have races on who could climb over the tractor tires the fastest. Braxton and Alex are always having competitions to see who can do something faster or more of. For example, Braxton kicks Alex's butt on sit ups. So Alex has been working out so they can compete again. Same thing with push ups or pull ups, it doesn't matter what it is.
Here Alex is telling kids "Axton the Lego Man" story. I love to see their faces when he tells them the story. The idea is Alex records the story and we will make it into a book for them. The kids love it.

We went on a hike above the cabin and had a lesson on top about seeing God's creations.
Here is us sliding down the hill on our bums because it was steep. It was pretty funny.
We went for some other hikes. The kids loved to pretend the grass coming off the trails was lasers so if it got you you had to freeze for 5 seconds. We also played Pooh Sticks from the book by the river.
This is when we played the Candy Bar game. We didn't realize Braxton was so competitive before. He was almost hyperventilating because he was getting so into the game. We video tapped some too because it was pretty funny.

Both nights we roasted marshmallows for s'mores and roasted gummy bears. We found out gummy bears don't roast very well either.  It was a fun trip and kids want to go back again.
