Christmas Day!

The whole month of December I would hear every day -no joke- about how they couldn't wait any longer for Christmas, especially McKailey. She thought December was the longest month of her whole life! That was with all of our December activities- which was quite a few :). But Christmas did arrive! This is a picture of the kids waiting to go down the stairs to see what Santa left them. Kids woke up at 7am (they aren't allowed to wake up earlier-if they do they have to go back to bed. And yes, they are pretty awesome with that rule.)
Sweet McKailey decided that she would play "Silent Night" before we could open Christmas so we could remember the real meaning of Christmas. She loves to sing and play at the same time, it helps her keep her rhythm. She teaches me so much! In fact today, I asked her to say morning prayers. I got everyone quiet and she didn't say anything for awhile. Then I reminded her it was her turn to say prayer. She said, "I know. I was just pausing so I can feel the Spirit before I talk to Heavenly Father." I can certainly learn from her :)

I can't believe my son is old enough to get a BB gun! He got a model airplane too and it got me to thinking how old he is and how he can do other stuff now. Crazy! He will be 10 next week!
McKailey got a Merry-Okee from Santa (the microphone). She loves it! She played newscaster while we opened all of Christmas and for the rest of the day as well.
After opening presents, we ate some cinnamon rolls and watched the parade on TV.

Lunch time is when we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Lopez's house. There they had more presents for us. They all got an outfit. McKailey also received a bead machine (make animals out of beads). Alie got a car for her dolls. Braxton got a pad of paper that shows how to make big paper airplanes and a model to build. After presents we visited and ate lunch.
Alie and Kyla got matching outfits from Grandparents.

After visiting the Lopez's we headed to Grandparent Day's house to continue the celebration. There we ate and visited and opened presents as well. It was such an awesome day. But best of all- I got to celebrate with all of my family and I couldn't be more grateful.
(P.S. Alex got a toaster oven. He has almost bought one 1/2 dozen times since I knew that was what he was getting for Christmas. It was hard to convince him to not buy it. What a stinker. )
